Counter-top Disinfectant ( this came from one of my new favorite sites-livingonadime.com)

2 Tbsp. ammonia
1/2 cup rubbing alcohol
1/4 cup vinegar
water

Put ammonia, alcohol and vinegar in a spray bottle and fill with water. This works especially good for counter-tops but may also be used to clean showers, toilets and sinks. Great for most cleaning needs.

Important tip: NEVER mix ammonia and bleach

Check out this womans site! She has a ton of things like this-

Kids

Easy finger paint-

¼ cup cornstarch
2 cups water

Mix in saucepan and boil until thick. Then pour into a jar and add food coloring until the desired shade is achieved. Store covered in the refrigerator

Playdough

2 cups flour 2 Tbsp. oil
1 cup salt 2 cups water
1 tsp. cream of tartar food coloring

Mix together all ingredients except food coloring in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture gathers on the spoon and forms dough (about 6 minutes). One of the ways I get the most of my money out of my sons clothes is I buy sweat pants ( you can get them for super cheap at the end of the season or thrift stores or yard sales) and he wears them in the winter and then once warm weather comes around one by one I cut the legs off and make shorts out of them. I alsways wait till it gets really hot to completly do this to all of his sweat pants just in case it gets cold. This way he gets two seasons or more out of one pair of pants. He has been able to get two summers out of some of his shorts! You could do the same for jeans too. These are of course play clothes but that is the beauty of boys! Everyday is a day for play clothes! I have done the same for my daughter and her jeans. She gets a pair of capris out of her jeans.
